About us

Virkštininkai primary school was established in 1930 by the order of K. Šakinis, the Prime Minister of Education of the Republic of Lithuania. Bronė Zalovskienė was appointed the head of the school. A new primary school was built in 1973. A new nine-year school whose headmaster became Povilas Nekrašas was opened in 1987. In 1988 it was reorganized into a Vydmantai secondary school. The first school leavers finished this school in 1991. Their class teacher was Adelija Dalangauskiene.

The renovation of the school was carried out in 2001-2005. The primary school students started learning in the anex of the same building in January 2002.

In 2012 the headmaster Povilas Nekrašas retired on a pension.

On 2 November, 2012 Asta Burbienė became the headmistress of the school. The same year in December the school had an external audit. In 2013 – 2014 there was held the accreditation of the secondary education programme  and on 1 September, 2014 the school was granted the title of gymnasium.

Today the gymnasium has   37  teachers and 278 students.

The gymnasium offers:

  • primary, basic and secondary education,
  • sports cultural education,
  • catering services,
  • other human health activities,
  • rental and management  of the real estate.
